I had a hard time getting the controls but it's because i'm note very good at game so no worries about that
The visual feedbacks are great but the game feels a bit boring simply because it doesn't have
- Music that adapts on what you do
- A way to restart fast
The game doesn't ask for mouse and keyboard control yet when you die, you have to get your mouse and click on the thing whereas a simple hotline miami R button to restart right away would be cool. Basically in a game where you die a lot and restart a lot, you should be able to quickly get back in business
There's a lot of music you can use for that type of arcade game here on newgrounds. Just have a main menu music and a bunch of cool song when you play that gets muffled out when you're dead and the game will feel a lot more amazing
Background and tiles are not very interesting, try to find a few variation and some decoration that could happen so you don't feel in an empty space (most of the screen doesn't provide any information right now) you could even use some decoration to provide information to the player about what's to come on several playthroughs
Lastly it would be cool if enemies that die leaves blood or something behind when they die so you can feel good about what you do...
Finally since there is such a big array of movement, make sur you can use some movements to go on alternative paths, this way you can use more of the screen in an interesting way. Feel free to use verticality, to have to use some move to get in unique places, that kind of stuff.
And finally I would make it so you can magnitically attract money towards you. And, I go beyound simple feedback, I feel it would be cool to have a combo system that would multiply that currency by how many jumps, and kills and stuff you have at the moment
Also I didn't go far but since it's a roguelike and I suggested alternative path, make so those path can be a merchant, a healing spot or stuff like that, like you would see in a roguelike but in the forever running category you know?
Hope i'm not too harsh and all this helps out
